Aftercare
We hope you are enjoying your beautiful new hair! Please read and follow these aftercare instructions carefully. It is important to avoid washing your hair for the first 48 hours after fitting to allow your extensions to settle. It is completely normal for your hair extensions to feel tight for the first week after they're fitted. If you have any concerns, please contact us.
When washing your hair it is important to wash in a downwards motion. Thoroughly cleaning the hair. Conditioner should also be applied at every wash from your chin down (it is important to avoid conditioning the bond as this will weaken the hair extensions). After washing, apply a generous amount of serum/oil to the ends. It is important to brush your hair before and after washing, unlike our natural hair, the extensions do not receive any natural oils from your scalp. This means that it is extremely important to use heat protection when styling. Applying a deep treatment every week will keep your extensions feeling as good as new.
NEVER sleep with wet hair. it is extremely important that your hair is dry before going to bed. Wearing your hair in two braids for sleeping will prevent any matting and/or bond damage. Two braids is also the perfect style for swimming if you are unable to keep your hair out of the water. After swimming it is extremely important to wash and condition your hair. When brushing your hair it is a good idea to support the bond.
The hair we supply here at Hairelle will happily last you over a year with the correct aftercare but maintenance appointments are required every couple of months. During a maintenance appointment all of your extensions will be moved back up to your root.
